Manoucher Yektai

Manoucher Yektai was an Iranian-American abstract expressionist painter born in Tehran in 1921, who studied in Paris before settling in New York City. Known for his thickly applied, gestural brushwork and rich chromatic palettes, he became an important figure in the New York School alongside contemporaries such as Willem de Kooning and Franz Kline. His work has been featured in major auction houses including Sotheby's and Christie's, reflecting sustained collector interest in his expressive, emotionally charged canvases.
