John Chiara

John Chiara is an American photographer known for his large-scale, unique photographic works made using custom-built camera obscura devices mounted on flatbed trucks. He drives these mobile darkrooms to locations throughout San Francisco and other cities, exposing photosensitive paper directly inside the camera to create one-of-a-kind, non-reproducible images with distinctive color shifts and distortions.
