Kabakov is an installation artist known for large-scale immersive environments that critique Soviet life and explore memory. His "total installations" such as "The Man Who Flew into Space from his Apartment" combine painting, found objects, and text. He has represented Russia at the Venice Biennale and is collected by major museums worldwide.
