Gerd Leufert (1914–1998) was a German-born Venezuelan graphic designer, typographer, and visual artist who became one of the most influential figures in Latin American design and contemporary art. He emigrated to Venezuela in the 1950s, where he worked extensively with the Museo de Bellas Artes in Caracas and became renowned for his rigorous geometric abstraction, typography, and visual identity work. His fine art practice explored the interplay of form, space, and optical tension, earning him recognition as a seminal figure in Venezuelan modernism.
