Fàn Zhěn was a Chinese philosopher, politician, and writer of the Southern Qi Dynasty, known for his staunch atheist views. He is best remembered for his treatise Shén Miè Lùn (On the Extinction of the Soul), a landmark work arguing against the immortality of the soul, which was preserved in the Book of Liang.
