Eugène Girardet

Eugène Girardet (1853–1907) was a French Orientalist painter born in Paris into an artistic family of Swiss origin. He is celebrated for his vivid depictions of North African life, particularly scenes from Algeria and Tunisia, which he visited extensively beginning in the 1870s. His works are prized for their luminous color, ethnographic detail, and ability to capture the daily rhythms of Arab and Berber peoples.
