Chun Kwang Young is a South Korean contemporary artist best known for his distinctive 'Aggregations' series, in which he wraps small polystyrene forms in mulberry hanji paper, often sourced from old Korean books and documents, and assembles them into large-scale relief sculptures and installations. His work bridges Eastern tradition and Western modernism, transforming humble materials into complex, textured surfaces that evoke geological formations, cellular structures, or abstract landscapes. Regarded as one of Korea's most significant contemporary artists, his practice reflects deeply on memory, history, and the cultural heritage embedded in material.
