Billy Al Bengston

Bengston was a painter and sculptor associated with the California Pop Art and Finish Fetish movements, known for paintings featuring motorcycle imagery and chevron patterns rendered with auto-body lacquer and spray paint. His technically innovative works combined commercial techniques with fine art sensibilities, influencing West Coast abstraction. His work has been exhibited at LACMA, the Whitney, and major museums internationally.
