Albert Eugene Gallatin (1881–1952) was an American abstract artist, collector, and writer who founded the Gallery of Living Art in New York in 1927, one of the first public collections of modern art in the United States. He was a pioneering figure in introducing European modernism to American audiences and was deeply influenced by Cubism and geometric abstraction. Gallatin was also a founding member of the American Abstract Artists group and contributed significantly to the development of abstract art in America.
