Ahmad Sadali

Ahmad Sadali (1924, 1987) was a pioneering Indonesian abstract painter widely regarded as one of the founding figures of modern Indonesian art. He studied at the Bandung Institute of Technology and later at the Art Students League in New York, developing a distinctive style that merged Islamic spirituality with abstract expressionism. His works, often featuring gold leaf and calligraphic elements, have achieved significant recognition at major Asian art auctions.
