Eduard Arkadevich Steinberg (1937–2012) was a Russian-French painter and philosopher known for his deeply spiritual approach to Suprematism, blending geometric abstraction with metaphysical and religious themes. Born in Moscow, he became a prominent figure in the Soviet underground art scene before emigrating to France in the 1980s. His work drew heavily on the legacy of Kazimir Malevich while infusing it with personal mysticism and existential inquiry.
