Georges Jouve

Georges Jouve (1910–1964) was a pioneering French ceramicist renowned for his sculptural, architecturally bold ceramic works that bridged fine art and decorative arts. His pieces, characterized by matte glazes in earthy and jewel tones, organic forms, and expressive surface treatments, became defining examples of postwar French design. Jouve exhibited widely during the 1950s and his work remains highly sought after at major auction houses including Christie's, Sotheby's, and Wright.
