Édouard Boubat (1923–1999) was a celebrated French humanist photographer known for his tender, poetic images that captured the beauty of everyday life and human connection. He first gained recognition with his photograph 'La Petite Fille aux feuilles mortes' (1947), and his work was championed by the magazine Réalités, where he worked as a photojournalist traveling the world. Often associated with the humanist photography movement alongside Henri Cartier-Bresson and Willy Ronis, Boubat's images are characterized by their warmth, lyricism, and profound sensitivity to the human condition.
