Billy Childish (born Steven John Hamper) is a prolific British painter, poet, musician, and writer known for his raw, expressionistic style influenced by artists such as Egon Schiele, Edvard Munch, and the German Expressionists. His paintings, often depicting landscapes, figures, and self-portraits, are executed with a deliberately rough, unpolished aesthetic that rejects the slickness of contemporary art trends. A founding figure of the Stuckism movement, Childish has been a fiercely independent voice in British art, producing an extraordinary volume of work across painting, music, and literature.
