Günther Uecker ’s Lichtungen I (1997/1998) is a signed limited edition woodcut on wove paper measuring 62.5 × 51.5 cm. Published by Erker-Presse, St. Gallen, the artwork is part of a numbered edition of 100 plus Roman-numbered artist’s proofs. A central figure of the ZERO movement, Uecker is renowned for his exploration of light, rhythm, and materiality. In this series, he translates his sculptural approach into printmaking, using the woodcut technique to investigate surface, structure, and the interplay between control and spontaneity.
