Jpw3 — Face of Smoke
Jpw3

Face of Smoke

A hauntingly ethereal face emerges from swirling layers of wax and ink, as if materializing from — or dissolving into — a veil of smoke. Jpw3 exploits the translucent, fluid properties of the medium to blur the boundary between presence and absence, giving the figure an elusive, transient quality. The interplay of pigment and encaustic wax creates a depth that seems to shift and breathe, inviting the viewer to search for definition within deliberate ambiguity.
