Yinka Shonibare is a sculptor and installation artist known for works featuring headless mannequins dressed in brightly colored Dutch wax fabric, exploring colonialism, class, race, and cultural identity through Victorian-era aesthetics. His work interrogates the constructed nature of cultural and national identities. He was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2004 and his work is held in collections including Tate and MoMA.
