William Penhallow Henderson (1877, 1943) was an American painter and architect best known for his vibrant depictions of the American Southwest, particularly the landscapes, people, and traditions of New Mexico. He settled in Santa Fe in 1916, where he became a central figure in the Taos and Santa Fe art colonies, blending Post-Impressionist influences with indigenous Southwestern subjects. Henderson was also a talented architect and furniture designer, contributing significantly to the Spanish Colonial Revival aesthetic in the region.
