Paul Désiré Trouillebert (1829–1900) was a French painter celebrated for his serene landscapes and intimate figure studies, often depicting the Loire Valley and its tranquil riverbanks. Heavily influenced by the Barbizon School and frequently compared to Corot, his work gained significant posthumous recognition at auction for its atmospheric light and poetic naturalism. He is also notably associated with a famous attribution controversy, as several of his paintings were initially misattributed to Corot.
