Natalia Goncharova (1881, 1962) was a pioneering Russian avant-garde artist, designer, and illustrator who co-founded the Rayonism movement alongside Mikhail Larionov. She drew from Russian folk art, Fauvism, and Cubism to create a bold, dynamic visual language that bridged Eastern and Western traditions. Goncharova gained international acclaim through her theatrical designs for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes and remains one of the most celebrated female artists of the 20th century, with her works commanding record prices at major auction houses.
