Mateo Manaure (1926–2018) was a Venezuelan painter and muralist who played a foundational role in the development of kinetic and geometric abstraction in Latin America. A key member of the Los Disidentes group in Paris during the late 1940s, he later became closely associated with the Venezuelan constructivist movement alongside artists like Carlos Cruz-Diez and Jesús Soto. His work is celebrated for its vibrant use of color, rhythmic geometric forms, and large-scale public murals that helped define a modernist visual identity for Venezuela.
