Kay Sage (1898–1963) was an American Surrealist artist and poet known for her hauntingly architectural dreamscapes populated with shrouded figures and geometric structures. Active during the Golden Age of Surrealism, she became a central figure in the movement after emigrating to the United States during World War II alongside fellow Surrealists. Her paintings evoke isolation and existential tension through muted palettes and vast, enigmatic spaces.
