Julie Heffernan

Julie Heffernan is an American painter known for her large-scale, baroque-inspired self-portraits that blend allegorical imagery with lush, fantastical environments. Her work draws on the traditions of Old Master painting while addressing contemporary themes of ecology, consumption, and the human relationship with nature. Heffernan is a professor at Montclair State University and has exhibited widely in galleries and museums across the United States.
