Herman Saftleven

Herman Saftleven (1609–1685) was a Dutch Golden Age painter and draughtsman celebrated for his detailed Rhenish river landscapes and panoramic views of the Rhine Valley. He was highly prolific, producing hundreds of drawings and paintings that blended topographical accuracy with atmospheric Baroque sensibility. His works frequently appear at major auction houses including Christie's, Sotheby's, and Dorothea during sales of Old Master drawings and paintings.
