Hendrick Goltzius (1558–1617) was a Dutch Golden Age printmaker, draftsman, and painter renowned for his exceptional engraving technique and virtuosic manipulation of line. He founded the Haarlem Mannerist school and was celebrated across Europe for his dynamic compositions and mastery of chiaroscuro. His influential print workshop and later paintings cemented his legacy as one of the greatest engravers of the Northern Renaissance.
