Eugen von Blaas, also known as Eugene de Blaas, was an Austrian-Italian academic painter celebrated for his charming and technically refined depictions of Venetian genre scenes and beautiful young women. Born in Albano Laziale to Austrian painter Carl von Blaas, he spent most of his career in Venice, where he developed his signature style blending meticulous academic technique with warm Mediterranean atmosphere. His works have consistently achieved strong results at major auction houses including Sotheby's, Christie's, and Bonhams, with paintings frequently fetching hundreds of thousands of dollars.
