Denzil Forrester is a British-Ghanaian painter known for his vibrant, large-scale works depicting the energy of London's reggae and dub music nightclub scenes of the 1980s, as well as themes of the African diaspora, grief, and social justice. Born in Grenada in 1956, he studied at the Royal College of Art and emerged as a significant figure in British figurative painting. His work gained renewed international recognition following a major retrospective and acquisitions by prominent institutions including the Tate.
