'After Giambologna' is an attribution used by auction houses to designate sculptures and bronzes created by followers, workshop assistants, or later craftsmen working in the tradition of the Flemish-born Italian Mannerist sculptor Giambologna (1529, 1608), one of the most influential sculptors of the late Renaissance. These works replicate or freely interpret compositions originated by Giambologna, such as the Flying Mercury or Rape of the Sabine Women, and were produced across several centuries following his death. The attribution acknowledges stylistic and compositional debt to the master without confirming direct workshop production or autograph status.
