Serge Mouille (1922–1988) was a French metalsmith and lighting designer celebrated for his iconic mid-century modern lamps, characterized by organic, spider-like forms and matte black finishes. Trained as a silversmith at the École des Arts Appliqués in Paris, he began designing lighting in the early 1950s at the request of interior designer Jacques Adnet, producing a limited body of work that has become highly sought after in the design auction market. His wall, ceiling, and floor lamps are considered masterpieces of postwar French design and regularly achieve significant prices at major auction houses including Christie's, Sotheby's, and Phillips.
