Giuseppe Santomaso

Giuseppe Santomaso (1907, 1990) was a leading Italian abstract painter associated with the post-war avant-garde movement in Venice. He was a founding member of the Fronte Nuovo delle Arti and later aligned with the Movimento Arte Concreta, developing a distinctive style that fused lyrical abstraction with rich chromatic fields inspired by light and landscape. His works have been widely exhibited internationally and appear regularly at major auction houses including Sotheby's, Christie's, and Phillips.
