Sailoz Mookherjea

Sailoz Mookherjea (1906, 1960) was a pioneering Indian modernist painter celebrated for his bold simplification of forms and vigorous, dynamic line work. He played a significant role in shaping early modern Indian art and remains a respected figure in the country's artistic heritage. Mookherjea was honored posthumously on the Archaeological Survey of India's 1979 list of Nine Masters.
