Rong Rong

Rong Rong (born 1968) is a pioneering Chinese photographer best known for his raw, intimate documentation of Beijing's East Village art community in the early 1990s, capturing avant-garde performance artists and the bohemian underground scene. He later co-founded the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre in Beijing with his partner inri, one of China's first dedicated photography institutions. His work bridges documentary and fine art photography, exploring themes of the body, memory, and the rapidly transforming Chinese urban landscape.
