Rodolfo Nieto

Rodolfo Nieto (1936–1985) was a Mexican painter associated with the Oaxacan artistic tradition, known for his vibrant, fantastical compositions blending indigenous Mexican imagery with modernist influences. His work is characterized by bold colors, dreamlike animal figures, and mythological themes drawn from pre-Columbian and folk art traditions. Nieto was a close associate of Rufino Tamayo and Francisco Toledo, and his distinctive style earned him recognition as an important figure in 20th-century Mexican art.
