Rhee Seundja (이성자) was a pioneering Korean-French artist known for her lyrical abstract paintings that blend Eastern philosophy with Western abstraction. Born in Korea, she emigrated to Paris in 1951 where she developed a distinctive visual language merging nature, the cosmos, and geometric forms. Her work evolved through several distinct periods, including her celebrated 'Two Worlds' series exploring the duality of Eastern and Western sensibilities.
