Park Seobo (1931–2023) was a pioneering South Korean contemporary artist and a founding figure of the Dansaekhwa (Korean monochrome painting) movement. He is best known for his meditative 'Écriture' series, in which he repeatedly drew lines through wet paint to create rhythmic, textured surfaces. His work has achieved record prices at major auction houses including Christie's, Sotheby's, and Seoul Auction, cementing his legacy as one of Asia's most significant postwar artists.
