Nahui Olin, born Carmen Mondragón in 1893 in Mexico City, was a revolutionary Mexican painter, poet, and model whose bold, erotic self-portraits and vibrant canvases challenged social and artistic conventions of her era. A central figure in Mexico's avant-garde scene, she was closely associated with the muralist movement and became a muse and companion to artist Dr. Atl. Her work, long overshadowed by her scandalous personal life, has been increasingly recognized and celebrated in major auction houses and retrospectives as a pioneering feminist artistic voice.
