Martine Franck

Martine Franck (1938–2012) was a Belgian-born French photographer celebrated for her humanist documentary work and intimate portrayals of communities, artists, and marginalized people. She was a co-founder of the Viva photo agency and later became a full member of Magnum Photos, where she served in leadership roles. Her compassionate eye and commitment to social justice informed decades of work spanning theater, portraiture, and reportage across Europe and Asia.
