Joel Brodsky (1939, 2007) was an American photographer best known for his iconic rock and roll album cover photography, most notably his legendary portrait sessions with The Doors, including the striking 'Young Lion' series of Jim Morrison. Working prolifically from the 1960s through the 1980s, Brodsky captured defining images of major musical figures including Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, and many others, blending artistic sensibility with commercial photography. His work is celebrated for its raw energy and psychological depth, and has gained significant recognition in the fine art photography market posthumously.
