Jim Goldberg

Jim Goldberg is an American documentary photographer known for his deeply humanistic and narrative-driven work that blurs the boundaries between photography, text, and personal testimony. He is celebrated for projects such as 'Rich and Poor' (1985) and 'Raised by Wolves' (1995), in which he incorporates handwritten captions by his subjects alongside photographs to create layered, intimate portrayals of marginalized communities. A longtime Magnum Photos member, Goldberg is widely regarded as a pioneering figure in socially engaged photography.
