Jacob van Spreeuwen (1611, 1660) was a Dutch Golden Age painter known for his intimate genre scenes depicting scholars, alchemists, and philosophers in candlelit interiors. His works often feature richly detailed still-life elements and are closely associated with the Leiden tradition of fijnschilders. He was influenced by contemporaries such as David Teniers the Younger and the broader Dutch tradition of cabinet painting.
