Christopher Wood (1901–1930) was a British painter whose brief but prolific career produced vibrant, naïve-style works capturing the landscapes of Cornwall, Brittany, and the fishing communities of France. Influenced by his friendships with Ben Nicholson and Alfred Wallis, as well as by the Post-Impressionist movement, Wood developed a distinctive, emotionally charged style marked by bold outlines and expressive colour. His tragically short life ended at age 29, yet his works remain highly sought after at auction, particularly at Christie's and Sotheby's.
