Chakaia Booker

Creates large-scale abstract sculptures from discarded rubber tires, cutting, twisting, and assembling them into dynamic forms. Her work addresses consumption, sustainability, and African American experience through innovative use of industrial materials. She has exhibited at the Storm King Art Center and Smithsonian American Art Museum.
