Andrea Locatelli

Andrea Locatelli was one of the most successful Roman landscape and view painters of the early eighteenth century, highly sought after at the height of his career. He trained as a painter of sea views under relatively obscure artists before studying figure painting under the Luccan artist Biagio Puccini. His work established him as a prominent figure in the tradition of Italian veduta and landscape painting.
