Alexei Petrovich Bogoliubov (1824, 1896) was a prominent Russian marine painter and grandson of the writer Alexander Radishchev, who studied under the renowned seascape artist Ivan Aivazovsky and at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. He served as a naval officer before dedicating himself fully to art, becoming one of the foremost maritime painters in 19th-century Russia. Bogoliubov founded the Radishchev Art Museum in Saratov and spent much of his later life in Paris, where he became a key figure connecting Russian and French artistic communities.
