Alessandro Turchi, known as l'Orbetto, was an Italian Baroque painter born in Verona who became one of the leading artists of his generation. He trained under Felice Brusasorzi and was heavily influenced by the Veronese school before relocating to Rome, where he gained significant patronage and recognition. His works are characterized by their rich coloring, dramatic lighting, and sensuous treatment of mythological and religious subjects.
