Adriaen Coorte was a Dutch Golden Age painter known for his small, intimate still life compositions. Active between 1683 and 1707, he worked in a style reminiscent of earlier 17th-century Dutch painting, focusing on modest and unpretentious subjects. He is regarded as one of the last practitioners of the intimate still life tradition in Dutch art.
