Ivan Serpa (1923–1973) was a pioneering Brazilian artist and educator who played a central role in the development of Concrete and Neoconcrete art in Brazil. He was a founding member of the Grupo Frente in Rio de Janeiro in 1954, which became a focal point for geometric abstraction in the country. Serpa's work evolved from strict geometric compositions to more lyrical, expressive abstractions, and he was also a highly influential teacher whose students included some of the most important figures in Brazilian art.
