A weathered antique door serves as the foundation for this work, its carved surface bearing the weight of history before Zhang Huan layers silkscreen imagery onto its aged wood. The collision of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary printmaking techniques creates a tension between preservation and transformation, as the door's original function as a threshold becomes charged with new meaning. Memory and conflict are embedded into the object itself, inviting reflection on the passage of time, cultural identity, and the enduring scars of war.
