3-D New York (Bronx)
Thomas Ruff 's 3-D New York (Bronx) (1998) is a set of two grano lithographs on Fabriano rag paper, each measuring 50 × 40 cm. The signed photographic prints depict an aerial view of the Bronx, presented in stereoscopic format, inviting the viewer to experience the image in three dimensions when viewed with 3-D glasses. Issued in a limited edition of 60, each set is hand-signed and numbered by the artist. Ruff's 3-D works reflect his ongoing exploration of how photographic technologies alter perception and reality. By reactivating stereoscopic viewing, he connects 19th-century optical experiments with late-20th-century urban imagery. The result is both an archival meditation on the Bronx at a specific historical moment and a critical engagement with contemporary photography 's ability to construct spatial experience.
