A Cement Wall
2018
A woman's figure emerges from a textured surface of layered acrylic and cement, her form simultaneously embedded within and constrained by the rigid, wall-like material. Khosravi's use of actual cement embedded into the canvas creates a tactile, architectural quality that blurs the boundary between painted illusion and physical barrier. The work explores themes of confinement, resilience, and the psychological weight of borders and boundaries as experienced by the female body.
